SECTION 1: What To Do (And NOT Do) When You First Start The Game
Part 1: Leveling and Stat Points

Find a good alliance.
You can only use Honor on alliance raids or Beatdown PvP.

Put stat points into Energy or Stamina until you reach 7 L.S.I.(Leveling Speed Index)
(L.S.I = base stamina*2 + base energy/level, Capped at 7 stats per level after level 100)
Pick whichever you like more (Stamina is for hitting raids, while Energy is used in missions)
Note: Although your L.S.I. can be higher than 7 initially, once you reach Level 100 the maximum L.S.I. is 7. If your L.S.I. is greater than 7 when you reach Level 100, you will not be allowed to put stats into Stamina or Energy until it falls below 7.

Do NOT put stat points into Health.
More health means that you will be hit more in Galaxy Dome (a PvP portion of the game) before you die/flee.
Do not expect to need Health in missions until you reach Zone 8 (the point at which boss difficulty increases); even then, sufficient Defense may negate the need for higher Health.

Do NOT sell any items. Keep ALL items you obtain.
The sale value of items is minimal; in addition, there is no benefit to accumulating Credits, as you will have more than you could possibly use soon enough.
In addition, some officers/crew have a greater benefit with greater amount of certain item types owned.

SAVE your Golden Suns (GS).
See the section below for more details on why to save them and what to spend them on.

TIP!
Do NOT buy the Officers, Tactics, or Gear that cost Golden Suns in the shop tab until you know more.

Part 2: Raid Sharing

Do NOT attempt to solo a raid you personally locate: ALWAYS ask for help.
It is OK to hit it a few times prior to sharing, but avoid holding it for long.
First ask your Alliance by posting the raid link in the Allies Chat.
If you could not join a very active alliance, politely post the raid link in the Public Chat.

Raid icon colors:

Normal Difficulty
Hard Difficulty
Legend Difficulty
Nightmare Difficulty

FAQ! How to Share a Raid:
To share a raid, click on the green 'Satellite' image to left of the "Engage" button on your raid page. Alternatively, you can click on the red "Post Red Alert" button in the bottom-left of the raid itself. Clicking either of these copies the raid link, after which you can then paste it into the chat box and press 'Enter' to share. The game will automatically convert the long text link into an icon.

Do NOT spam raid links.
You should not post a raid link more than once every few minutes unless people ask for it to be posted again.
If you spam a raid, you can be muted by others and/or reported for spamming.
It is not spam if the raids are different. You may see many raids of the same name in chat (a train of a raid). Put your mouse over the raid icons and look at the raid ids to see if they are all the same or shift click on a raid to find out if all the raid icons are for the same raid.

Do NOT post Alliance raids in the Main Chat.
These are raids that use Honor instead of Stamina and can be joined by clicking on the "Alliance" tab. Only members of your own Alliance can join such raids, so do not post these links in the Main Chat.

Do NOT ask for World Raids
World raids are special Dev summoned raids that everyone can join, you are able to use stamina, energy and honor on it. IF there is a World Raid (WR) or Rare Spawn (RS, a mini WR), then World Raids and Rare Spawn clickable links will appear at the top of the News page when they go live! The News page will update automatically with the link when the raid goes live, along with another clickable text next to it which will bring you to the appropriate raid loot poster.

Deposit your credits
Remember to deposit the credits you get by hitting raids and doing missions into your bank. You will lose 10% of the credits you put into your bank but when you are attacked in PvP you will not have your credits stolen as long as they are in the bank. When buying items, health refills or upgrades for your facilities. The credits needed to make these purchases will be taken directly from your bank. There is no way or need to take your credits out of your bank. It is best to always deposit your credits, not only will the credits deposited be safe from being stolen by PvPers, they will also work towards your Prudent achievement rank.

FAQ! Muting and Reporting Spammers:
Click on their name on Main Chat and a window with 2 buttons will pop up. One allows you to MUTE and the other allows you to REPORT said person for offense after writing a reason. You can UNBLOCK muted people by going to your stats tab and clicking on the BLOCK LIST button below your PvP info.

Part 3: Hitting Raids

Try to TAG as many raids as you can (EXCEPT Pox and Temple raids).
Do this for both Stamina and Honor (Alliance) raids.
This helps you accumulate a lot of loot quickly, since in most cases tagging still provides loot, but you will not get any loot from the epic section unless BtR has been applied to the raid.
The exception to this is Pox and Temple raids. Absolutely do NOT tag these raids!
Do this until you are able to get OS on raids.
After you've grown and are strong enough. Don't forget to help out failing raids and save them from failing, remember back to your days of tagging raids and not helping them! Usually by level 100 you should be able to hit OS on most of the easy raids without too much trouble.

FAQ! OS, FS, and Tagging:
FS (Fair Share): This is the portion of damage expected by each participant (total health/max players)
OS (Optimal Share): This is the damage amount that yields the highest loot-to-damage ratio. Soloing a raid does not mean a ton of epic loot items, or guarantee a particular one.
Tagging: This is intentionally barely hitting a raid (often with a 1-stamina hit) that only takes up a raid slot without truly contributing to killing the raid. In most cases, you will still get loot. However, in the case of Pox and Temple raids, you will get no loot for tagging because their drops are determined by damage tiers.

TIP!
Try tagging Zone 9 raids (such as Reaver or CC Councilor) for the Fleet Commander set, good Leveling Gear for lower level players.

Start to OS raids when you have enough base Stamina and Honor to do so.
Hitting OS generally means 2-3 epic loot items from.
Start with smaller/zone 1-2 raids, which generally have a lower OS.
OS depends on the raid AND difficulty
for example, CC Colonel (Normal) has an OS of 600K while CC Colonel (Nightmare) has an OS of 1.2 mil.

FAQ! How to Join a Raid:
To join a raid, Shift+click a link in the Chat, and paste it into the field in the upper-right corner of your raid tab, and click "Add." An alternative method for Alliance raids is to click on the red "Engage" button for individual raids while in your Alliance tab. You can find this in the bottom-right corner, and use the arrows to scroll through available Alliance raids.

LINK! OS and Loot Database
General (Stamina) raids: http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/raids/general
Alliance (Honor) raids: http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/raids/alliance

TIP!
If you don't want to tag raids or want to get stats fast when you are weak, instead of hitting raids, try doing Duel, Skirmish or Beatdown to get medals. 1= 1 medal 100 medals = 2 stat points

1,5,20 Hits.

1 Hit button = x1 your damage (1-4 exp for stamina)
5 Hit button = x5.1 your damage (5-24 exp for stamina)
20 Hit button = x20.5 your damage (20-100 exp for stamina)

Part 4: Tactics

Do NOT use tactics on raids until you know which to use.
The vast majority of of tactics that do not require Golden Suns to obtain are BAD and should NOT be used!
There are also a few raid-specific tactics that are useful on certain Alliance raids; these are not listed here. Please depend on the more experienced members of your alliance to apply these tactics.

Abbreviated List of Tactic Usage:

Tactic
Usage
Source
Notes

Suppressive Fire (SF) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Suppressive_Fire)
Only with EDC
Available in shop after Zone 2 & in
Shipyard: level 3+
+ ~44.9% damage boost with EDC (passive)
No noticeable boost in damage without EDC

Flank Attack (FA) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Flank_Attack)
Only with EDC and SF
Epic loot item from CC Cruiser
+~23.3% damage boost with EDC (passive)
+~68.2% total damage boost with EDC and SF (passive)
No noticeable boost in damage without EDC

Espirit de Corps (EdC) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Esprit_de_Corps)
Raids with 3 or more tactic slots
Epic loot item from Storm and Vulture
Completely useless without SF or FA
EDC+SF+FA+PREP= EDC Chain

Preparations (Prep) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Preparation)
Only if EDC, SF, and FA have been put on a raid
Epic loot item from Peacemaker (Alliance raid)
Completely useless without SF or FA
+86.8% total damage boost only when EDC, SF, and FA (passive) are applied

Asymmetric Warfare (AW) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Asymmetric_Warfare)
Small or Personal raids (raids with only 1 or 2 tactic slots)
Epic loot item from Crush Colossa
This is the ONLY free (non-GS) tactic that should be used on Temple or Pox and should always be on them.
+45% damage boost(passive) on small or personal raids ONLY.
+0% damage boost on other raid sizes.

Rule of Thumb:

Two Tactic Slots: AW and BtR
Three Tactic Slots: EDC ,SF, and FA
Four OR More Tactic Slots: EDC, SF,FA and Prep

*Tactics should be put in the order listed (SF + EDC is better than FA + EDC and both SF and FA are more or less useless without EDC) and again, AW ONLY works on small (green) and personal (purple) raids.

FAQ! L.S.I. Limited Tactics:
Pursuit of Excellence (PoE) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Pursuit_of_Excellence): Each attack by any raid member has a chance to double the amount of EXP received.
Lightning Assault (LA) (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Lightning_Assault): Each attack by any raid member has a chance to trigger a second attack without additional cost (~4.2% proc or Programmed Random Occurrence)
These Tactics WILL NOT give EXP when they proc IF your L.S.I. is above 6.5. MOST People in game have 7 L.S.I. and because of this, PoE is a TACTIC THAT SHOULD NOT BE USED. IF your L.S.I. is 6.5 or below then USE IT ONLY on raids YOU have summoned when hitting and then REMOVE this tactic once you are done.

There are additional Golden Sun tactics that are useful; please consult alliance members or more experienced players (or the guide below) on which are suitable.

List of GS tactics that can be used in conjunction with AW on Temple or Pox raids:

Biological Warfare (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Biological_Warfare) (BW)
Trick or Treat (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Trick_or_Treat) (ToT) - Legend/Nightmare raids only!
Death from the Darkness (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Death_from_the_Darkness) (DftD)
Angel of Death (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Angel_of_Death) (AoD) - Normal/Hard raids only!

Note: Any other tactic will likely cause Temple or Pox raids to fail!

Other Tactics Worth Mentioning:

Better to Receive (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Better_to_Receive...) (BtR) - +1 random loot. Note: this tactic will NOT give any epic loot on Temple or Pox raids because their drops depend on damage tiers.
Take A Chance (http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/Take_a_Chance) (TaC) - Small chance of doubling EXP.

FAQ! Adding/Removing Tactics:
Adding: Any person can add a tactic to a raid if there is an open slot, even if the raid already has max players.
Removing: Only the raid summoner can remove tactics from that raid (which can be done by double-clicking the unwanted tactic). In addition, Alliance officers can remove tactics from all Alliance raids.

SECTION 2: Golden Suns

Part 1: Obtaining Golden Suns In Game

Leveling: You gain One Golden Sun every Two levels.
Shipyard: 1-3 Golden Suns can be obtained from your Shipyard facility depending on its level.
Achievements: 5 Golden Suns can be obtained from the 100 AP Planet packs. (view achievements in profile)
Daily Reward: 10 or 25 Golden Suns can be crafted in LAB under MISC when you obtain Sian Loyalist's Tokens every 7 days from your daily in reward.

TIP!
SAVE YOUR GOLDEN SUNS and use them all at once to buy a full set of equips or when expeditions/limited time raid vaults are on sale! ALSO, DO NOT USE SUNS ON REFILLS, ADDING FLEET, OR STARTER PACKS.

LINK! Achievements and Achievement Packs Info
http://zoywiki.com/index.php/LotS/shops/Achievements

Part 2: Expeditions

Expeditions can be bought by clicking on the big Expeditions button on the home page.

Mystery Pack(MP): 35 Golden Suns per try for a random loot, chance to obtain more Suns. (may contain premium crew or officer as a jackpot prize, available for a limited time in MP.)
Relic Pack(RP): 30 Golden Suns per try for a random loot, chance to obtain Squeedlyspooch and Bambleweeny which greatly increases leveling speed. (Legendary items that should be used if you have one, you can get duplicates of them.)
New Item Pack(NP): 40 Golden Suns per try for a random loot. (you will not get duplicates from this expedition and if you own all items in this expedition, then you may directly choose and buy the item you want.)

TIP!
Buy Expeditions when they are on sale. Any Expedition on sale will cost 20 Golden Suns each instead of their usual price!Always look on the Home page. If there are discounts or raid vaults available then it will be mentioned.

Part 3: Raid Vaults

Raid Vaults can be obtained from the Shop tab IF they are available.
Raid Vaults are only on sale for a limited time and are usually available for only 1 or 2 weeks in the shop tab.
Price ranges from 20-30 Golden Suns per vault usually.
Duplicate items and crew CAN obtain if they are not unique.
May contain certain premium crew/ officers as the Jackpot Prize.
Raid Vaults that have been bought can be found in your items in profile and must be opened there to obtain your random item.
Raid Vaults usually contain gear that is more powerful than the ones in expeditions and the items you may obtain from them, along with their stats and abilities will be listed in the weekly patch notes.

EXPEDITIONS AND RAID VAULTS ARE A GAMBLE FOR GOOD ITEMS.

LINK! Patch Notes
http://www.legacyofathousandsuns.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?4-Changes-Update-Logs

FAQ! Duplicates:
YOU CAN GET DUPLICATES FROM EXPEDITIONS AND RAID VAULTS except from the NEW ITEM pack expedition OR IF THE ITEM IS A UNIQUE ONE. Example: If you obtain a/an officer/ship/or premium officer/crew, it is not possible to get a second one and instead if your luck allows you to land on such a prize again when a expedition/vault is purchased, a RE-ROLL will happen and the game will give you another item randomly. (Re-roll may not give item from the same tier that you landed on as it will be completely random again.)

SECTION 3: Alliances

Part 1: Finding an Alliance

Go to the Alliance Tab and look for Alliances with a good amount of people in it and remember to check their levels by clicking on the alliance name.

Look for alliances with at least 150 + people in them.

Starting a New Alliance from scratch is not recommended.

If creating an alliance, 10 people must sign your charter for your alliance to be established.

If you sign someone else's charter but be apply for another alliance and get accepted later and the charter you signed becomes an alliance, then you will be pulled into the newly started alliance.

After you join an Alliance, YOU MUST WAIT 80 HRS BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO JOIN ANOTHER ALLIANCE.
* It is either 72 or 80 hrs (need more info)

Part 2: Honor and Alliance raids

You must be in an alliance in order to use your honor.
Honor can only be used on Alliance raids, World Raids, and Beatdown (pvp).
Honor gives 1-2 xp per 1 honor on Alliance or World Raids.
Honor gives 1 xp per 1 honor in Beatdown if you win.
Most Alliance raids do not have a cool down (CD) Period (time needed to wait before being able to summon)
The only Alliance raids that have a CD are Wahsh (48 hr CD), Psi Hound (1 hr CD), Celebrator ( 1 hr CD).
Killing normal swarms is a great way to get stats. (Many large Alliances will do swarm farming)
Joining an alliance with officers that are dedicated enough to refresh the game over and over again to be able to summon swarms is a good alliance.

SECTION 4: PvP

Part 1: Adding Fleet

To increase your fleet on armor games, you must add friends and wait till they are added to your fleet.
To add friends on armor games you should ask friends or alliance members for the names of their armor games account.
Once you have the names of their account, you should type out their name after http://armorgames.com/user/
and go to their profile page and press the "add friend" button. After you have done this, it is polite to comment on their profile saying you have added them so they may add you back.

note:They do not need to add you back for them to appear in your fleet.

LINK! My Armor Games Account
http://armorgames.com/user/00Yang

note: you may have to refresh a few times and or wait an uncertain amount of time for friends to be added to your fleet (there have been problems in the past with fleet not updating or taking too long to update, please report this if fleet does not update for 24 hrs)

After you have added some friends, you can then get started on creating your very own GD TEAM to battle others with.(3 fleet members needed to have a full GD team)

TIP!
Post your armor games account name onto your profile. You can also find the account names of many players by checking their profiles.

Note:More info in my Advanced Guide (http://www.legacyofathousandsuns.com/forum/showthread.php?11998-00Yang-s-Advanced-Guide&p=302268&viewfull=1#post302268).

SECTION 5: Farming

Part 1: Optimal Share (OS) & Fair Share (FS)

Find as many raids as you can and do Fair Share or 2x Fair Share, which usually means OS on most raids. You will maximize your chances at stat point drops just by hitting more raids.
Doing more than ~5x Fair Share DOES NOT give you any more loot or better loot chances.
Start with the raids that have low OS at first then moving your way up onto the raids that have higher OS.
Fair Share and Optimal Share will give the same amount of rare, common, uncommon loot, but FS will give only 1 epic loot usually while doing OS will give 2-3 epic loot.
As you get more loot and create stats in your lab, you can use them to add to your own char and make him or her stronger.

FAQ! Adding Raids FAST:
you can add raids by SHIFT CLICKING them on chat, which will copy the Raid URL while darkening the raid icon. Then you must paste the Raid URL into the area right above where you would summon your raids. The raid will then be added to the "NEW" tab after pressing the ADD button.

Part 2: Stat Points

http://zoywiki.com/images/thumb/1/13/LotS_Stat_Points.png/40px-LotS_Stat_Points.pngPut your stat points into energy and stamina first and get your L.S.I to 7.

ATTACK

http://zoywiki.com/images/5/52/LotS_Attack_Points.png
Damage per 1 stamina hit. 1 attack = ~4 damage
1 defense = ~1 damage
1 ship power = ~5 damage

DEFENSE

http://zoywiki.com/images/a/a0/LotS_Defense_Points.png
Decreases damage done to you by mission bosses,
Increases chances of mission bosses doing 1 damage to you.
Should be added later on when mission bosses become stronger. (zone 8+)
~3000-5000 defense makes all mission bosses do 1 damage to you per hit.

FAQ! Cost Increase for Attack and Defense:
AFTER 10,000 base attack/defense THE COST OF ATTACK/DEFENSE WILL INCREASE.
It will cost 2 stats PER 1 attack/def after 10,000 attack/defense.
AND the cost will INCREASE BY ONE AGAIN after every 1,500 attack/defense AFTER 10,000.
There will however, be a decrease in stats needed after level 1,500 and every 500 levels after level 1,500
the states needed will be decreased by ONE after level 1,500 and every 500 levels after.
Example:
Level 1499 14,501 base attack (4 stats per 1 attack)
Level 1500 14,501 base attack (3 stats per 1 attack)

LINK! Stat Increase Chart
http://puu.sh/18juE

TIP!
Get to 10,000 attack/defense then save up 100 stats and use them all at once to get to 10,100 attack and def with only 100 stat points (the change in stat cost does not happen until 10,001 attack/defense). You can also do this right before any other stat cost increase point and it will save you 100 stats.

Part 3: Raid Finder Tool

PLEASE use this and add your own raids and any other raids you find onto it.

Part 4: PMing raids to people & trading OS of rare raids

Finding their profile

To find the profile of people NOT in your alliance, you can either find their names in a raid and click on it, OR ask for their alliance name. Then go to your own Alliance tab and clicking on the archive to view other alliances and find the alliance the person you are searching for is in. Click on their alliance and view their members to find the profile of the person you are looking for.

Shortening Raid URL

Before you can post the Raid URL privately on their profile, you must shorten the raid url by either OMITING the "//armorgames.com/legacy-of-a-thousand-suns-game/13510" part of the raid url OR you can post a Tinyurl link.
This needs to be done otherwise the Raid URL is TOO LONG to fit in 1 message.

LINK! Tinyurl! To shorten your raid links
http://tinyurl.com

TIP!
PMING raids to people allows for the trading of rare raids so they do not die instantly in Main Chat.
This is also useful for Pox raids and Temple raids because it allows you to control who hits it and stop people from tagging such raids which may cause the raid to fail.

SECTION 6: Leveling & Classes

Part 1: Leveling Gear and Attack Gear

Creating gear sets
you should always have a leveling gear set and an attack gear set.
The "none" button directly under your character is used to save to armor sets.
Create one set with all your best gear that gives the highest attack and save it.
Then create another set with all your armor that gives stat boosts. Use anything which increases your energy/stamina/honor. Pick your best ones and put them together and then save it.
You can also create a leveling ship (a ship with officers that increases your stats)
Right before you can level, you can switch into your leveling gear using the saved set button and also switch into a leveling ship.
Once you level, use up all the extra stats until your stamina/energy/honor are below your base values, then switch back to your attack set/ship to attack raids.

Part 2: Classes

Starting
-Prisoner: 2m energy and stamina
Level 6
-Pilot: 1m40s energy, 2m stamina

Stamina is useful if you wish to get loot from raids and level faster but it can be very random and give you a wide range of exp needed "till next level" (TNL)
Energy costs 1 stat point and although gives less exp than stamina, it can help you advance through missions faster and gives a constant amount of exp that you can rely on and in later levels can be much more reliable when the energy-exp ratio is better.
Energy can also be more useful in World Raids/Rare Spawns since you may use energy to hit those and it costs only 1 stat per energy as opposed to 2 for stamina which means you can have twice as much energy as stamina per level.

3. DO NOT put points into health.
Wrong! I have 10k hp and i don't need to heal my self ever and withj low hp you cant beat mission bosses and you will need to heal yoursela after evry 2-3 hits on dules bot (or genesis or wr). Also gd power increase with hp.

7. When you start out you should try to tag ( hit a raid using 1 stamina/ honor) as many raids as you can, UNLESS they are POX or TEMPLE raids. DO NOT tag those raids.
Wrong again never tag raids (small can fail and on big you don't do enough dmg for any items) alvays try to do fs.

rest are ok! good job :048:

Having a lot of HP can be a downside when you get farmed hard in GD and remember this is a newbie guide, a lot of hp is not a plus for them at such low levels and you need a lot of hp to make a difference in your GD power, plus with the Crusader set everywhere it hardly matters much unless you've been farming for a long time.
And you do get items for big raids that aren't pox or temples. If you tag enough fleet coms or Reavers or any of the zone 9 raids you can get the full fleet commander set which can be a decent leveling set for low levels.
Also if you play on armor games all small raids die in seconds when posted in main chat and big ones will fail or win regardless of what you do.

I agree with 00Yang, tagging a raid is your only option before you're able to FS/OS them. What else are you supposed to use stam on? PVP? Hardly a viable means of leveling and source of sp. You should always try do do OS rather than FS, Optimum is better than Fair.

7. [...]

OS is best damage to epics ratio. If you don't need epics from particular raid then hitting OS is pointless.

Lets take Bashan raid for an example, it drop cakes and mysterious technology crafts. I have hundreds of orange cakes and mysterious technology 6 (epics) but i'm low on green cakes and MT 3 (uncommons), therefore by tagging Bashans i'll get much more useful loot (to me) with same amount of stamina then by OSing it.

Tagging Colossa is best way for new player to get decent armor set without using GS. You don't have to hit FS to get epic items and only chest and pants are part of Colossa epics loot table. Sometimes i forgot to hit OS on Colossa that i tagged and i can tell you that 200-250k damage on NM Colossa is enough to get around 4 items (up to rares) without BtR.

To be clear on this one. I strongly advise against tagging epic and colossal size raids (and all high HP raids for that matter) by high level players because it's simply rude to force other players to make up damage for you when you can hit FS/OS easily.

HP is pretty useless - especially when you could be putting defense points in instead for mission bosses. There are a few OP healing items that make you not need more than 500-1000 hp as is, and hitting dules really shouldnt be anyone's priority.

As for tagging - I believe he meant in order to start getting some decent equipment at a very low lvl, which is a decent strategy. Doing more than 1 stam would certainly help, but if you've got very low attack more chances may be better than wasting all your stam on one high boss.

Epic and Colossal raids are good to tag because they have high max members, and the more people that are in it the more synactha does (which slightly helps higher players do more damage). If you can find colossal raids that are filled up I'd be very surprised.

@ OP - I had a quick read through most of it sounds good. Just try to organize it a bit better as its kinda.. unpleasant to read though as a nub (lots of details and whatnot just mixed in a large wall of text)

Tagging is beneficial when starting, but only on raids that drop useful stuff in the rare tier and below. Off the top of my head, that's Anniversary raids, z9 raids, Colossa, maybe Vince. You won't be seeing any epic-tier items until you get to around half-FS.

Good job Yang, gratz and thank you.

One thing that left out which class a player should choose. If you have a pure built then it is obvious, but with mixed stats (most of the players fall into this category) it could be difficult, especially for an energy based player (with decent stamina, like 3000ene, 1000stam). One thing that you should consider is that stamina gives 2x experience compared to energy, so when leveling quicker is more important (like when a world raid is running) then the players who choose the faster stamina regeneration will be able to level up quicker.

Also, how to spend your hard earned Golden Suns is an important topic, especially at the very beginning.

i didnt find low HP to be a problem till zone 9 raids i got by on what world raids that had auto stat points added to health till then.

as for farming nothing and i mean nothing compares to getting a alliance together and swarm farming even a low level being added to the group can easily be compensated for if someone knows one of the people doing a swarm farm is just doing minor tags and if you have a dedicated group doing it you can farm mass amounts of stats in a mater for 30 mins of summoning and killing swarms just takes some practice and a dedicated summoner or 2

failing that after a week you should learn then raids that will not tend to fail no mater what colonels voids teles rage beats all tend to die with out fail no mater what. but you may find getting into a viod or a rage beat difficult if its your hit it before you post it generals warmasters vespa bots tend to be reliable finishers as well... look out for world raids and rare spawns as the tend to have a drastic effect on raids failing but most of the above will finish even during rare spawn 24 hour raids

Awesome collection, 00Yang!

I think that a newbie guide should only recommend the classes that focus on stamina. The only function of class is to dictate how quickly you regenerate your stats to build to a next level. Since stamina averages more xp per hit than energy, the only sane choice is the class that regenerates stamina faster.

Whether you choose to assign more stat points to energy for missions or to stamina for raids is a matter of taste, but that's different from the choice of class - always choose the stamina-based class. Always. I'd cut the classes section down to this:

Level 6
- Solider: 2m energy, 1m40s stamina

Level 100
-Space Reaver: 1m50s energy, 1m30s stamina

Level 500
-Star-Slayer: 1m40s energy, 1m20s stamina

If you ever decide to seriously push for gdome you will wish you hadn't put a lot of points into HP. Let's assume for a moment you get into a bracket near someone in the full crusader set and they happen to hit you and realize you are an easy mark with huge HP. You'll be losing 160+ gdome points a day from each person that farms you and if it is during an event there will be tons of people hitting. I have zero trouble with 500hp and I wish I hadn't put that much in there.

On the tagging note, when I first started the game the first thing that I saw in the chat was a reaver train. I tagged them all 1 at a time and within about 2hrs I was in incredible gear for a lvl 22 player who didn't purchase suns. Tagging works for newbies and everyone should do it. It helped me get a huge headstart on levelling and I hit lvl 90 on my first day.

For farming, you meant to say OS and not FS. The farmers on facebook are doing it wrong if they are hitting fair share instead of optimal share. Maybe you should take some time and read the guide in it's entirety before you put wrong information in an otherwise very helpful thread.

From about fair share you get about the same amount of items for most raids.

OS gives more epics and less commons and uncommons. FS gives more commons and uncommons and less epics.
But you get the amount amount of items for both.

Hit after what you need.

Small sample size, if you need a larger one let me know, and Ill record hits on my next bed time pvp frenzy.

I'm not a math wiz, and don't quite know the numbers to extrapolate and break down those numbers into attack points / defense points / health points into pvp power.

To calculate 1480 attack and 1480 defense + 400 pvp power:

From the Galaxy dome discussion thread:

***********************

Normal (non GD) PVP offensive power = "Attack + 0.4 Defense"
Normal (non GD) PVP defensive power = "Defense + 0.4 Attack"

******************
Considering my symetrical stat layout, this formula would look like this for either attack or defense:

[1480+(1480*0.4)]+400 = 2072. [Compare this to my first set of numbers above]

I'm hitting for 3.3k a pop on the low end. Leaving rougly 1.3 k of attack power un accounted for.

[1300 / 6735 ] = 0.19 - ratio of missing power to health total

or 20 health = 1 attack power

****************

On a side note, I think i've noticed in the past that PVP power starts dropping slightly as your HP gets lower. I will have to get larger samples when I can. Not too many people try to beat up on me, as I usually win when somone attacks me in full gear.

**************

The quicksarian priest set would have only added 50 pvp power to the mix (1000 * 0.2), so it would be really difficult to propperly extrapolate that from the random number aspect of the pvp calculator on such a small sample.

**************

ALSO, if I'm wrong on any of this, feel free to nerd-ambush me, beat me silly, give me a wedgie, and follow up with a well intentioned clean toilet swirly for good measure.

*EDIT*

If you want more data, ask. I am willing to go into GD nekid for a few fights to verify numbers for ya, just let me know what setup you want done.

By seriously push, I mean exactly that. I mean seriously attempting to be the best. So if you are on facebook that would mean competing with those players who are gdome rank 100 as an equal. The pvp community on armor is very small, and a high HP target who doesn't stack up strength wise will be consistently farmed. Armor is also newer so there aren't nearly as many inactive players for people to farm. I personally hit the same person 30+ times a day, because they have high hp and lower than average strength. They are stuck at the next "safe" bracket above me and until I get past them they will continue losing 120+ points a day. However, if they didn't have the high HP I would be forced to look elsewhere for a target.

As for tagging, temples/pox are the only 2 raids that can be harmed by taggers. On armorgames raids generally don't fail unless they have craptics or just aren't shared. So it is nearly always a safe bet for newbies (lvl 1-40) to tag them for a shot at the gear, and on the off chance that they do fail the new player is only out 1-20 stam. Most of the colossa I have right now that are close to finishing are between 150-220/500 and one is even at 78/500. That is quite a bit of room for taggers without putting the raid in jeopardy at all.

Maybe the difference comes from a superior raid delivery system, the raid tool made by Sir_Dec, or the smaller size of the community but tagging is an excellent idea for new players on newgrounds, kong, and armor.

OK maybe pvp are diffrent between pletforms due to larger amount of players on fb.

Again tagging is bad and i won't change my mind :)

On fb we don't have raid delivery system ;p just raid posting in fb groups so it is easier to find them and join :)

In the leveling section, it might be helpful to explain that there are benefits to "buying in bulk" when hitting raids. E.g...

1 stam hit -> 1-4 xp
5 stam hit -> 5-24 xp
20 stam hit -> 20->100 xp

The 20-stam hits can give you 25% more xp for your stamina and help you level faster.

Btr works on Pox and Temple raids but it never works on wr rads (so spamming 'put btr' before wr ends is useless) :P but it gives one random item from any loot tier (common, uncommon, rare or epic) so it jus not so efective like on other raids where you have 9 max loot slots. Because NM Pox and Temple raids are still quite hard (especialy if you are Newbie) better put other tactic from the list.

i know xD but its just simpler to put it does not work as BtR should never be on a pox or temple IMO

BTR on Temple and Pox gives one extra common I believe. With the amount of loot items on those raids it is not all that valuable. But if you short on the common pox samples it is not a bad extra.

When it comes to PvP power and becoming best in GD, it is much better option to first farm and then go up in GD rank, than PvP-ing early. Because farm raids has much better payout in stats than PvP has.

Also, with high PvP power when you start to increase it, you can always select people which give +13 gd power when you go up, and the chance that people will win against you at lower ranks is very low, in particular the chance that someone 6 ranks below you can win against you should be very low. (Because if they can win it generally means that they picked up PvP again after not doing it for some time, and they probably could pick any target to hit and that they picked on you was just bad luck.)

If you can't find players to beat who give +13 GD power, it is a safe indicator that you should stop at closest safe level and resume farming to increase your GD power before progressing later on.

I think there is simple mistake in Crimson Coyotes's Bender's PvP power Calculator.

Line 41: =IF(O15>0.2,O40+O15, O40*O15)
Line 42: =O40+O41

It means that for character's column gear power aka unadjusted power (O40) has been counted twice. Correct value of line 41 is: =IF(O15>0.2,O15, O40*O15). That gives much more accurate total power.

One more thing - after gearing as spreadsheet suggested, I dropped about 1k in power. It means that gear matrix is not optimal, but I don't have time to investigate it now.

Edit:

So... time isn't an issue when there is a mystery to solve! :)

PVP power is taken into equation much too early - it's multiplied by team member bonus and therefore items with PVP bonus are overrated, which impacts total power and - what's more important - made me choose wrong items to wear. Everything seems to be correct when I add it at the very end. My missing 1k will be back in no time! ;)

Edit2:

One more thing - during gear selection it should be taken into account that team member's gear is 20% more powerful than character's. I am attaching document that has been changed in order to fulfill above rules. It works correctly under assumption that character is Ranged and all team members give 20% bonus.

How is Ship Power calculated?
Are officers 2x their AV and crew 1.45x their AV?

I ask because I put Octopus Lv1 (50.4 AV) in a Sian Fighter and I get 100 SP. I tested the same with several other officers, its always 2x the AV rounded down.
Did the same test with crew, seems to always be AV x 1.45 rounded down.

Edit: To say its rounded down is inaccurate. Testing with multiple crew/officers, only the final value is rounded down, not each individual one.
